The trees gossiped, a breeze carrying their rumors from branch to branch. Rumors of an attack, Rush suspected. Almost as if the forest creatures knew something they were too scared to tell.
Rush, a headstrong 14-year-old, never knew true sadness—until now. After a party of raiders bring tragedy to his town, his whole world is plunged into chaos. One obsession rises from the ashes of death. Revenge. He embarks across the kingdom to find the man who caused him pain. But not everyone is on board with his spiteful quest, especially after he provokes the nation’s military. Pursued by crushing fears and searching soldiers, Rush’s task won’t be easy. But it will be worth it. Or so he thinks.
